The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team handed Pearl River Community College their first loss Friday afternoon at the Northwest Florida State College Tournament in Niceville.
The Titans went on a 19-0 run in the first quarter and went on to pick up the 73-44 victory to improve to 9-2 on the season.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Sanders scored a career-high 23 points, hitting seven of 11 3-pointers which is her career high and tied for second in program history.
Eastern Florida State College led by 12 points at halftime and 13 after three quarters, but went on another run in the fourth quarter to pull away.
Rapuluchi Ngorka recorded another double double, her sixth of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Teammate Shadaria Smith finished with nine points.
Pearl River falls to 9-1 on the season.
The Titans will play Bishop State Community College at 2 p.m. Saturday in the tournament.
