The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team got back on track Monday night, defeating Santa Fe College in a Central Conference game at Titan Field House.
The Titans snapped a two-game losing streak with a 63-42 win to remain tied for second in the conference standings with one game remaining.
Both teams got off to a slow start and it looked like Santa Fe would hold the lead after the first quarter but a Stephanie Torres 3-point with 12 seconds left tied the game 11-11.
The second quarter was much the same and Katlyn Sanders hit two free throws with 10.9 seconds remaining to give the Titans a 24-23 lead at halftime.
But Eastern Florida State College came out hot in the third quarter as Zahria Jenkins had back-to-back baskets to start the third quarter and Anja Knoflach had a 3 and Torres stole the ball and scored to give the Titans a 10-point lead, 33-23.
The Titans would outscore the Saints 21-8 in the third quarter and headed to the fourth up 14.
The lead would hit 20 on a Sanders basket and the Titans rolled to their ninth conference win of the season.
Sanders finished with a game-high 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in the game while Anja Knoflach had 12 and Zahria Jenkins finished with 11 points.
Eastern Florida State College will host the Florida State College at Jacksonville in a Central Conference game Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. It will be Sophomore Night and the team will honor five sophomores after the game.
