Women's basketball team cruises past Santa Fe
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team scored 95 points for the first time this season, defeating Santa Fe College on the road Monday night.
The Titans hit eight 3-pointers and cruised to a 95-55 Central Conference victory. Eastern Florida State College is now 10-4 overall and 7-2 in the conference.
Tatiana Beaumont came off the bench and scored nine points to help the Titans lead 20-10 after the first quarter. Anja Knoflach opened the second quarter with an 8-0 run as the Titans opened the lead up in the four minutes of the second quarter.
From there the Titans just kept increasing the lead as nine different players scored in the contest.
Knoflach led the Titans with 22 points, including five 3-pointers. The sophomore has scored at least 12 points in six of the past seven games and it is her third 20-point performance this season. Knoflach has hit at least one 3-pointer in every game and this s the third time she has had five in a game this season for the Titans.
Beaumont finished with a career-high 20 points, hitting a career-high five 3-pointers. Anissa Tuitt had 13 points which is her career high as well.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to St. Petersburg on Wednesday night for a key Central Conference game at 5:30 p.m.
