Women's basketball team wins seventh straight
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team took a few minutes to get started, but once they did it was all Titans in a Central Conference game against the Florida State College at Jacksonville Wednesday night.
The Titans won every quarter Wednesday, posting an 83-52 victory, and have won seven in a row. It is the third time this season the Titans have won by at least 30 points.
Up 15-12 in the first minute of the second quarter, the Titans went on a 14-2 run and went into halftime leading 38-19.
Anja Knoflach hit two of her five 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Titans increased the lead to 64-36 after three quarters.
Natalia Beaumont finished with a season-high 20 points while Stephanie Torres finished with 19 points and six assists. Knoflach finished with her second double-double of the season, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Titans will host St. Petersburg in a battle of the top teams in the conference Thursday at Titan Field House. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. and admission is free but is limited to 75 fans in the gym.
