Women's basketball team picks up road win
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team picked up a Central Conference victory on the road Wednesday night.
The Titans used a big third quarter to defeat Daytona State College 74-51 and improve to 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
Eastern Florida State College led from the start, using an 8-1 run to start the game and led by four after the first quarter and five at halftime.
But the Titans got off to a fast start in the third quarter as Anja Knoflach hit a 3-pointer and Anissa Tuitt scored to give EFSC a 10-point lead for the first time.
The lead would go to 18 on another Knoflach 3-pointer with 3:27 left in the quarter but Daytona State cut it to 12 heading to the fourth quarter.
Knoflach finished with a career-high 27 points in the game, including four 3-pointers. Teammate Stephanie Torres had 17 points and five assists while Tuitt, Jourdan Avery and Zahria Jenkins each had seven points in the game. Angel Keiths led the team with 12 rebounds, also a season high for the sophomore.
Eastern Florida State College will host Florida State College of Jacksonville Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Fans are welcome to Titan Field House but masks are required at all times while on campus and social distance.
