The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team fell short in its bid to knock off unbeaten and No. 1 ranked Gulf Coast State in the JUCO Shootout at Chipola College Saturday evening.
The Titans, who fell to 3-5, led by as much as eight points in the second quarter but could not pull out the win as Gulf Coast State College won, 76-56.
Sherae Cherafant led the attack with 12 points, eight rebounds and six assists while teammate Mariah Batz also had 12 points in the game. Trudy Walker finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
Eastern Florida State College will hit the road Tuesday night, traveling to St. Petersburg College for a 5:30 p.m. contest before returning to Chipola College next weekend for the Chipola Classic.
