Softball team hits road for conference doubleheader Tuesday
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be on the road Tuesday afternoon for a Citrus Conference doubleheader.
The Titans, who are ranked sixth in the NJCAA Region 8 Coaches Poll, will travel to Daytona State College for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the doubleheader 16-4 overall and 1-3 in the conference while Daytona State College is 8-10 and 1-5 in the conference. The Titans come into the week with a .401 batting average as a team which is second in Region 8 while the team ERA is 2.06 which is fourth in the state.
Hannah Strickland is 4-0 with a 1.12 ERA in nine appearances. The 1.12 ERA is third in Region 8 and she also have two saves. Teammate Jenna Borkey is tied for second in the state with 23 saves.
It is the first of three doubleheaders this week for the Titans, who will travel to College of Central Florida on Thursday and then host Seminole State College Saturday at 1 p.m.
