Softball team back home Thursday for doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will be back at Titan Softball Complex Thursday for a doubleheader against Lake Sumter State College.
The Titans, who are 11-1 on the season and ranked fifth in the NJCAA Region 8 Coaches Poll, will host the 6-8 Lakehawks in a doubleheader that begins at 4 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College is second in Region 8 in average, hitting .447 in 12 games, runs scored (103) and runs batted in (88) as well as team ERA (1.71). The Titans are third in stolen bases with 55.
Hannah Strickland leads Region 8 in ERA with a 0.41 ERA in three appearances, two of them starts. Teammate Jenna Borkey is fifth in the state in runs batted in with 15 and her 15 stolen bases is tied for first. Teammate Faith Campos has 14 this season.
Lake Sumter comes into the game hitting .338 this season led by Alexis Adams who is hitting .438 in 12 games.
The 11-1 record is the best start for the Titans in more than a decade. Thursday's doubleheader begins at 4 p.m. and admission is free to Titan Softball Complex. You can also watch the games live online at the EFSC Titans YouTube page.
