Softball team back home Tuesday for doubleheader
The Eastern Florida State College softball team looks to get back on track Tuesday afternoon against Polk State College.
The Titans, who are 11-18 on the season, will host the Eagles in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. at Titan Softball Complex.
Polk State College won the first meeting between the two teams this season 3-2.
Eastern Florida State College is led by Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor who has a 1.70 ERA this season in 13 starts with 85 strikeouts and two saves. Offensively, Sam Clark leads four players that are hitting over .350 this season. Clark is hitting .379 in 24 games with 13 RBI. Teammate Rachel Lamoureaux is hitting .375 and has six stolen bases while Trinity Howard is hitting .368 with a team-leading 35 hits and 10 stolen bases. Makenzie Fore is hitting .354 with three home runs and 18 RBI.
Polk State College is led by Alma Fernandez who is hitting .458 this season with 20 RBI. On the mound, Kailey Guethle has an ERA of 1.30 in nine appearances this season.
The doubleheader begins at 3 p.m. and admission is free to games at Titan Softball Complex.
