Softball team loses pair of conference games on the road

The Eastern Florida State College softball team lost a pair of Southern Conference games at Miami Dade Friday afternoon.
The Titans lost the first game 7-6 in eight innings and led until late in the second game as Miami Dade came back to earn the sweep. The Titans fell to 16-15 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
In Game 1 Madison Neuhaus gave the Titans a lead in the top of the first inning, hitting her sixth home run of the season, a three-run blast.
Miami Dade would score three in the bottom of the first and took the lead in the bottom of the third, 5-3.
Down 6-4 in the fifth, Roneice Pharoah hit a sacrifice fly to cut the score to 6-5. And then in the sixth inning, Meritxell Blesa drove in the tying run on a fielder's choice as Neuhaus scored.
But Miami Dade would win the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on an RBI single.
Kayla Domon and Neuhaus each had two hits.
In Game 2, Danielle Branton allowed just one run on four hits over five innings in a no decision.
Tied 1-1 in the fourth, Meritxell Blesa hit a two-run triple and later scores to give the Titans a 4-1 lead.
But Miami Dade would score four times in the sixth inning and hang on to post the come-from-behind win.
Lauren Lightbody and Jaydah Stroup each had two hits in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to No. 1 College of Central Florida on Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. They will host Miami Dade College next Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
