The Eastern Florida State College softball team's rally fell short against Santa Fe in the home opener for the Titans Saturday.
The Titans, who had two different delays due to lightning, lost 5-4 in the first game and had the second game cancelled when weather hit for the third time.
Down 5-1 in the sixth inning the Titans got things going as Olivia Rivera ripped an RBI triple that scored Meritxell Blesa and then Rivera scored on Kayla Domon's single to cut the lead to 5-3.
Then in the seventh inning Madison Neuhaus crushed her fifth home run of the season to cut the lead to one run. But the Titans could not tie the game, falling to 8-6 on the season.
Blesa and Lauren Lightbody each had two hits in the game.
Eastern Florida State College will host Seminole State College on Tuesday for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
