Men's soccer team faces Coastal Bend in matchup of ranked teams
The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team will be back on the field in a battle of nationally-ranked teams Saturday in Texas.
The No. 9 ranked Titans, who are 1-0 after a 6-1 win in the season opener, will face No. 17 Coastal Bend who opened the season with a 2-1 victory over Hill College.
In the opener, sophomore Adrian Adrian recorded his first hat trick and the Titans scored the first five goals against Blinn College who is ranked 13th in the United Soccer Association preseason poll.
"We were a lot better in our performance against Blinn, I think it really helped us that we played the NCAA opponents in the preseason so that we could work on some of the things going forward and have seen some improvements," Eastern Florida State College men's soccer coach Adam Butler said. "We know that Coastal Bend is consistent, super direct and when you have relationships in soccer, there is always a little bit more on the line and you are going to get a real good battle. Playing a nationally-ranked team here is important that we go and take care of business."
Saturday night's game will kick off at 8 p.m.
