The Eastern Florida State College men's soccer team shut out Lakeland United FC Saturday evening at Orlando Health Stadium.
The Titans have now won four straight and has a seven-game unbeaten streak after the 3-0 victory.
With five minutes and 46 seconds remaining in the first half, Ryan Thomas made a nice run and found an open Jack Nelson in front of the goal and Nelson didn't miss, putting the Titans up 1-0. It was Nelson's 10th goal of the season.
In the second half the Titans would add two more as Jaidon Seldon scored 13 minutes into the second half for his sixth goal of the season and then four minutes later Junior Smith hit a rocket past the goalkeeper to make it 3-0. Smith has seven goals this season.
Meanwhile the defense had another strong showing and Kodai Tsuzuki posted the shutout, the fourth straight game that the Titans have not allowed a goal.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Daytona State College for a Region 8 Conference game next Saturday. If the Titans win, they will lock up the Region 8 Conference title. The game will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.
