Men's golf team tied for 10th at Battle at the Shores

The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is tied for 10th place after two rounds at the Battle at the Shores in Miami.

The Titans shot rounds of 287 and 297 and is tied with Balm Beach Atlantic. Barry University leads the tournament at 16-under after a second round 263.

Nick Miller shot 1-over 72 in each of the first two rounds and is tied for 29th overall heading into the final round on Tuesday. Teammate Bryan Hernandez shot one of the top rounds of the morning with a 69 but had a 77 in the second round and is tied for 37th.

Adam Vermut had a 75 and 74 in the first two rounds while Murphy Allard had a pair of 75s. Robert Greninger bounced back from a first-round 80 to shoot a 72 in the second round.

"We just did not play well as a team," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "Miami Shores is a good test of position golf and we were out of position too often today."

Barry University's A.J. Ewart shot a 69 and a 62 and is tied with Lynn University's Joseph Hudak at 9-under 131. Hudak had rounds of 66 and 65.

The final round of the tournament will be Tuesday morning at Miami Shores Country Club.
