Men's golf team tied for third in Alabama
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is tied for third place after the first round of the Coastal Alabama Invtational in Point Clear, Alabama.
The Titans shot a 295 at the par 72 Lakewood-Azalea course and is tied with Calhoun Community College and trails Mississippi Gulf Coast who shot a 281 and Central Alabama Community College who is second with a 292.
Eastern Florida State College's John Houchin shot a 2-under 70 in the first round and is tied for third place overall. Teammate Matt Gauntlett shot a 1-over 73 and is tied for 12th overall while Brandon Boncore is tied for 17th after shooting a 74. Robert Greninger shot a 78 and Drew Lanier finished with a 79.
"Good round by John and consistent play by Matt and Brandon," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "We need better balance tomorrow and a stronger finish."
The Titans will play in the final round on Tuesday morning.
