Men's golf team in second at Trojan Invitational
The Eastern Florida State College men's golf team is one stroke back after the first round of the Trojan Invitational at The Preserve Golf Club in Mississippi.
The Titans shot a 295 and is one stroke behind Central Alabama CC for the top spot.
Eastern Florida State College was led by sophomore Thomas Matthews who is tied for third overall after shooting an even par 71. Teammate Sean McGinty shot a 74 and is tied for 10th while Ben Ramos and Josh Yang are tied for 17th after each shooting a 75. Ryan McMillan is tied for 29th with a 79.
"Good solid play by Matthews today and nice comeback from Ramos while McGinty and Yang hung in there," Eastern Florida State College men's golf coach Jamie Howell said. "It should be a good test tomorrow."
The teams will tee off Tuesday in the final round of the tournament and the fall season.
