Eight men's basketball players sign to go to four-year schools

Eight men's basketball players sign to go to four-year schools

The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball program has announced that eight players have signed to continue their education and playing careers at four-year colleges.

Four of the eight will be playing NCAA Division I College Basketball next season with three signing with Division II teams and one heading to an NAIA program.

Roberts Berze has signed to attend McNeese State College and will play with the Cowboys in the Southland Conference. McNeese State College was 11-22 last season.

The second-year player from Sigulda, Latvia was named to the Central Conference first team and averaged 10.7 points per game in 31 games, hitting 36.2 percent of his 3-pointers.

Brody Boyer will head to Samford University to play with the Bulldogs in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs were 21-11 overall last season and lost in the semifinals of the Southern Conference.

Boyer, a third-year player from Palm Bay, was a first team Central Conference player who made three game-winning shots for the Titans. Boyer averaged 9.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists this past season.

Reggie Hill has signed to attend Northwestern State and will play with the Demons in the Southland Conference. Hill and Berze will play against each other next season as conference foes.

The second-year player from Melbourne averaged 8.4 points and 6.9 rebounds in 27 games last season for the Titans.

Markus Harding will attend Central Michigan in the fall and play for the Chippewas in the Mid-American Conference.

The second-year player from Toronto, Canada was a second team all-Central Conference player, averaging 7.7 points per game in 30 games.

Justin Reid will attend Mississippi College in the fall, playing for the Choctaws in the NCAA Division II Gulf South Conference. The Choctaws were 7-19 overall last season.

The second-year player from Miami was a second team all-Central Conference player averaging 8.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game this past season. In two seasons, Reid scored 360 points and grabbed 291 rebounds in 49 games for the Titans.

Rron Ukaj will attend the University of Virginia Wise College in the fall, playing for the Cavaliers in the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Conference. The Cavaliers were 4-24 overall last season.

The third-year player from Peje, Kosovo played in 31 games off the bench this past season for the Titans, averaging 2.5 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

Lovre Zaja is heading to St. Mary's College in Texas to play for the Rattlers in the NCAA Division II Lone Star Conference. The Rattlers were 12-13 last season and made it to the Lone Star Conference Championship game.

The second-year player from Zagreb, Croatia played in 25 games for the Titans, starting in 21 of them. Zaja averaged 3.7 points, 4.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game this past season.

Chris Roth will head south to attend Keiser University and play for the Seahawks. The Seahawks play in the Sun Conference and were 12-16 last season.

The Melbourne native played two seasons with the Titans, averaging 3.5 points and shot 30 percent from 3-point range.

Overall, seven of the eight received interest by NCAA Division I teams. The Titans went 22-9 last season and 12-3 in the Central Conference season, earning a share of the conference title.
