
Men's basketball team to compete at FSW Turkey Day Classic
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team is traveling to Fort Myers for the FSW Turkey Day Classic on Friday and Saturday.
The tournament features four teams with a combined record of 18-1 and three of the four teams are ranked in the latest NJCAA Division I poll.
The fourth-ranked Titans will open the tournament Friday at 5 p.m. against unbeaten Spartanburg Methodist College who has started the season 5-0 and is averaging 97.2 points per game. The Pioneers are led by the trio of Ephriam Butler, Jamarvious Jones and Sitony Diedhiou as Butler and Jones are each averaging 13 points per game and Diedhiou is scoring 12.
Then on Saturday Eastern Florida State College will play No. 20 Snow College at noon. Snow College comes into the weekend 4-0 and is led by Hagen Wright who comes in averaging 18 points per game.
Host Florida Southwestern comes into the tournament 4-1 and No. 19 in the nation and has five players in double figures with Justin Archer and Kaiyem Cleary both averaging 14 points per game.
Eastern Florida State College is 4-0 this season and has four players averaging 10 points per game this season as Reggie Hill, Derrick Butler, Brody Boyer and Roberts Berze are all averaging at least 10 points per game.
