He has coached with Vanderbilt University baseball coach Tim Corbin for over a decade and Corbin said this about him. "I have watched Steven grow as a baseball coach for the past 12 years. He is someone who is totally immersed in the kids and their development. His ability to communicate and engage with them is a large reason why kids learn from him. He has a strong passion for the game, continuous energy for coaching and is a sponge when it comes t learning. Steven really has a chance to impact a college program."
