The Eastern Florida State College baseball team's rally fell short in a Citrus Conference game at Bruce Bochy Field on Thursday.
The Titans, who fell to 5-8 in the conference, scored three times in the bottom of the ninth inning but could not get any closer, losing 8-3 to Santa Fe College.
Each team scored once in the first inning and then Santa Fe took the lead with four in the third inning. Each team scored twice in the fourth with Sanat Fe adding a big run in the sixth.
Carlos Cordero had three hits while Luke Lambert homered and drove in two runs. Jake Cooper and Kevin Smith each had two hits.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at noon.
