Baseball team loses tight conference game on the road
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team lost a tight game on the road Thursday evening at the State College of Florida, Manatee.
The Titans, who fell to 12-16 in the Citrus Conference, gave up a home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to fall 6-5 in the first game of the three-game series. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field beginning at 1 p.m.
Ryan Cerrone gave the Titans a 3-1 lead with a two-run single in the third inning. SCF-Manatee tied the game in the fifth.
In the seventh inning, Hector Mangual once again put the Titans on top with an RBI single. But in the bottom of the eighth inning, SCF-Manatee hit a two-run home run to take a 6-5 lead.
