Bio

Mitch Gallagher is in his third season with the Eastern Florida State College baseball staff after a successful playing career at Pepperdine.

Gallagher began his coaching career as the infield coach at Palomar College where his defense ranked fourth in the state. He helped 25 players transfer to four-year colleges with 12 going to Division I schools. After Palomar, he went to Houston Baptist as a graduate assistant and received a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Mitchell also spent three summers coaching in the Northwoods League working with all positional groups. 

Gallagher played in 22 games as a freshman at first base, third base and outfield hitting .250 and in his two seasons at Pepperdine they won two conference championships, appeared in two regional final games and made it to a Super Regional.  In his sophomore season at Palomar College Mitchell led the infield in fielding percentage making just two errors in 34 games at shortstop and second. He hit .339 and received first team all conference honors and helped secure a PCAC conference championship.

He transferred to Xavier University where he hit .268 and was third in the team in doubles, RBIs and stolen bases while leading the team in fielding percentage as a second base and shortstop.  In his junior season, Xavier won the Big East championship and appeared in a regional final against Louisville. Mitchell was named to the Big East All tournament team and was a two-time all academic team member.
