Baseball team hosts Polk State College in conference doubleheader Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team will host Polk State College in a key Citrus Conference doubleheader on Saturday.
The Titans, who lost the first game of the series at Polk State College, return to Bruce Bochy Field for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
Polk State College is 13-9 in the conference and has won two in a row heading into the doubleheader. The Eagles are led by Damion Kenealy who is hitting .350 with 11 doubles this season while teammate Liam O'Neil is coming off a big game on Thursday where he hit two home runs and is hitting .315 this season with eight homers.
Eastern Florida State College is 10-12 in the conference and in the hunt for a spot in the state tournament. The Titans are hitting .303 as a team this season and have won their last two conference series. Sophomore Hector Mangual leads the Titans with a .371 batting average while teammate Laheim Bell is hitting .341.
Region 8 Pitcher of the Week Kenneth Robinson will get the ball in Game 1 and comes in 6-2 with a 2.06 ERA for the Titans.
