Jackson Woodward tosses a complete game shutout
Eastern Florida State College freshman pitcher Jackson Woodward tossed a complete game to help the baseball team to a 1-0 win over Broward College.
The Titusville native allowed just two hits and struck out nine while walking two in the complete game victory, his third win of the season.
The Titans scored the lone run of the game in the third inning as Cory Leech singled with one out and later scored on an Alejandro Rodriguez single.
From there it was all Woodward, who struck out the final two hitters in both the fourth and fifth innings and finished the game with a six-pitch ninth inning.
Rodriguez, AJ Mathis, Kyle Dentmon and Jonathan Hubbard each finished with two hits in the win.
Eastern Florida State College, who improved to 4-3 in the Southern Conference, will travel to Palm Beach State College Friday for a 3 p.m. game before wrapping up the series on Saturday at Bruce Bochy Field beginning at 1 p.m.
