Baseball team picks up first win on the road
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team picked up its first win of the season in comeback fashion on Monday at Hillsborough Community College.
Down 2-0 in the seventh inning, Lake Fisher and Cory Leech each drove in runs to tie the game and then in the eighth inning it was another freshman that came up big for the Titans.
With Abraham Arroyo and Connor Leary on base, Jonathan Hubbard ripped a two-run triple to give the Titans a 4-2 lead.
Zack Kornick came in to finish the game in the eighth, tossing two scoreless innings for his first win.
Jackson Woodward relieved starter Andrew Walter and struck out five in three and a third innings to keep the game 2-0.
The Titans, who are 1-2 on the season, will host Hillsborough Community College at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bruce Bochy Field.
