Baseball team picks up 9-2 victory, plays again Monday night
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team defeated Drury University JV 9-2 in the first of a two-game series Sunday evening.
The Titans took the lead in the bottom of the second inning as Andres Ramos, Paul Castillo and Jasson Corniel each hit singles and all three scored in the inning as the Titans took a 3-1 lead.
Drury University would cut the lead to 3-2 before the Titans added a run in the sixth and five more in the seventh inning to open the game up.
Ramos, Castillo and Corniel each scored twice in the game. The Titans wlaked 13 times in the contest.
JP Williams got his first start as a Titan and tossed five innings, allowing two runs and struck out three to pick up his fourth win. Zak Botelle, Erik Vargas and Raynieri De Los Santos Disla closed out the game, not allowing a run.
The two teams will play again Monday evening at 5 p.m. and admission is free to Bruce Bochy Field.
