Titans Roll Past ASA; Final Conference Games Await
Facing its final nine games of the regular season, all in the FCSAA Southern Conference, Eastern Florida's baseball team got a shot of momentum on Wednesday with a 17-6 non-conference victory over ASA Miami.
The victory at Bruce Bochy Field improved Eastern Florida's overall record to 27-12. ASA fell to 18-17-1.
The Titans collected 20 hits. Jay Ciuro went 4-for-6 with a grand slam home run and five runs batted in. Sammy Duran went 4-for-6 with an RBI and four runs scored.
Noah Dyals picked up the win.
Next up for the Titans are the first of the final conference games as they seek to solidify their hold on first place and an automatic berth in the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Tournament in Lakeland in May.
The Titans, 12-7 in the conference, host Broward College (12-10) at 5 p.m. Friday in a game to be televised live on WEFS-TV and streamed live at www.efsctitans.com. They then visit Broward in Davie at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Titans are 2-3 against Broward.
Three games against Indian River State follow – 4 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Pierce and 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday in Melbourne. Wednesday's first game is the completion of the March 19 game suspended by weather with the Titans leading 5-1 in the sixth inning.
The Titans are 4-0 against Indian River.
The final four games are an April 15-16 home-and-home series with Miami Dade College and an April 19-20 home-and-home with Palm Beach State.
The Titans are 4-1 against Miami Dade and 2-3 against Palm Beach. The Titans are 15-7 at home and 12-5 away.
