April 1, 2016 – A big road trip deserves a big-time performance, and that's exactly what the Eastern Florida State College baseball team got from pitcher Blair Calvo Friday night.
The sophomore right-hander allowed six hits and struck out six over eight innings as the Titans shut out host Broward College 4-0 on Friday.
"Calvo pitched a stellar game," Titans coach Jeff Tam said.
EFSC is now 26-11 overall and 12-6 and ranked first in the Southern Conference.
Vinny Capra had an RBI double and John Capra added an RBI single for the Titans. Sammy Duran went 1-for-3.
"Guys did a great job," Tam said. "Stayed focused in some real tough spots."
The Titans will play at second-place Broward again on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
