Titans collect 16 hits, top Tampa JV team 17-7
Road trips like this can be really fun.
The Eastern Florida State College baseball team went across the state Tuesday and defeated the University of Tampa JV team 17-7.
Sammy Duran went 3 for 6 with triple for the Titans (22-10), who had 16 hits on the day.
Norberto Navarro had a double and a triple, while Manny Rodriguez went 2 for 5 with two RBIs. John Capra had two hits, including a triple, and AJ Puigcerver went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs.
It was also a two-hit day for Vinny Capra and Ian Lisle, who also drove in two runs.
Cutter Dyals got the victory on the mound for the Titans, who held Tampa's JV team to five hits.
The Titans, now riding a three-game winning streak, will return to action this weekend with a pair of Southern Conference home games against Miami-Dade at Bruce Bochy Field.
Friday's game is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's contest is at 1 p.m. Admission is free.
