Men's cross country team ready for Region 8 Championships

The Eastern Florida State College men's cross country team will compete in the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Cross Country Championships Tuesday in Tallahassee.

The men's team will look to repeat as the Region 8 Division I champions, starting the day of running at 8:30 a.m. The race will be an 8K race at Apalachee Regional Park and will feature seven teams from around the state.

"I am excited. I am very confident this team will perform well against the Division I teams and we are looking to place well overall," Eastern Florida State College sophomore Dayton Law said. "I love the racing, so I am looking forward to the competition and to see how I do against other runners."

The Titans have run in some big races this season to get them prepared for the postseason, which begins with Tuesday's race.

"Our training is really dense, we have a really tight pack and I feel like we are really deep and am proud of the team," Law said. "We are training really well and our workout times have been what we expect, we are putting in a lot of hours and I feel like we will be good."

The top teams will advance to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament which will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 in Huntsville, Alabama.
