Men's basketball team travels to St. Petersburg College Saturday
The Eastern Florida State College men's basketball team will head to St. Petersburg College for a conference road game on Saturday.
The Titans, who are ranked 21st in the latest national poll, have won four games in a row and are 19-3 overall and in second place in the Citrus Conference at 8-1.
St Petersburg College comes into the contest on a two-game win streak and is 4-5 in the conference standings. In the past five conference games, the duo of Mason Blazer and Isaac Edwards have been averaging 18 points per game for the Titans. For the season Blazer is averaging 15 points per game while Edwards is averaging 12. Blazer and Brandon Davis each had a team-high 16 points in the first meeting at Titan Field House.
Eastern Florida State College is coming off a win against Florida Southwestern State College and are averaging close to 70 points per game in the four-game win streak. The Titans won the first meeting of Titans in January.
Fredy-Salam Sylla has scored at least 10 points in each of the past eight games and is averaging a team-leading 16.5 points during the winning streak. Sylla had a double-double in the first meeting with St. Petersburg College, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Chandler Watts has also been a consistent scorer in the past four games averaging 11 points per game. Emondrek Erkins-Ford had a team-high 23 points in the first game with St. Petersburg and is averaging 16 points per game this season which leads the Titans.
