The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team cruised to victory in the home opener Tuesday night at Titan Field House on the Melbourne campus.
The 23rd-ranked Titans picked up an easy 100-26 victory against Edward Waters JV to win their second straight and improve to 3-3 on the season.
Eastern Florida State College led from the start and held a 25-point lead after the first quarter as five players had at least four points with both Lynn Rieth and Dream Muhammad scoring five points in the quarter.
They would extend the lead to 52-8 at halftime.
Sophomore Amelia Hassett had 14 of her game-high 22 points in the second half as she hit four of nine 3-pointers. Hassett also grabbed eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in the game. It is Hassett's second straight 20-plus point performance and third time in the first six games.
Kristiana Kulackovska and Rieth each finished with 10 points while Jaidyn Koerdt had nine points as 13 different players scored in the win. It was season high's for Reith, Dream Muhammad (8), Silvia Otokhagua (7), Caitlin Lord (6) and Rosa Redondo Sorribes (6).
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Edward Waters JV next Wednesday night before opening the Citrus Conference season Saturday, Dec. 9 at Daytona State College. The Titans will host Santa Fe College on Monday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
