Women's basketball team rolls to sixth straight win
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team won its sixth straight game Monday night, defeating the Florida State College at Jacksonville in a Central Conference game at Titan Field House.
The Titans used a huge second quarter to roll past the Blue Wave 92-30 and improve to 18-3 overall and 5-0 in the conference.
After a slow first quarter the 21st-ranked women's basketball team scored 32 points in the second quarter to head into the locker room with a 49-12 lead.
Seven players scored at least nine points in the game led by the duo of L'or Eyeba Mputu and Rapuluchi Ngorka each recorded a double-double in the game. Mputu finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season while Ngorka had 10 points and 10 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the season.
Hanna Mebius-Svensson, Ana Carolina De Jesus and Tatiana Beaumont each finished with 12 points in the contest, while Jillian Schenk finished with 11 points. Shadaria Smith had nine points and three assists.
Eastern Florida State College will travel to Santa Fe Saturday for a conference game at 2 p.m. before returning to Titan Field House on Feb. 2, hosting Daytona State College. The February 2 game will be shown live on WEFS-TV beginning at 5:30 p.m.
