Women's basketball team rolls at Lady Jets Holiday Classic
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team rolled in the final game of the Lady Jets Holiday Classic Thursday morning in Americus, Georgia.
The 24th-ranked Titans defeated Chattahoochee Valley Community College 80-43 to improve to 13-3 on the season.
After trading 3-pointers to open the contest, the Titans opened things up and had a 23-10 lead after the first quarter. That lead would reach as much as 29 points in the first half as the Titans would head to the locker room leading 44-22.
The third quarter saw Eastern Florida State College start with a 16-0 run as Chattahoochee Valley did not score until there was 4:08 left in the quarter. The Titans would go o one more big run in the fourth quarter to pick up its largest win of the season.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Sanders hit seven 3-pointers for the second time this season, finishing with a game-high 21 points. Ana Carolina De Jesus recorded her first double double of the season, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the win. Rapuluchi Ngorka and L'or Eyeba Mputu each had 11 points while Tatiana Beaumont also had 10 points for the Titans.
Eastern Florida State College will open the Central Conference schedule Wednesday evening, travelling to the Florida State College at Jacksonville for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
