Five women's basketball players honored by Suncoast Conference
Five Eastern Florida State College women's basketball players were recognized by the Suncoast Conference this week.
Alexandrine Obouh Fegue, Brianna Lewis and Mariah Batz were named to all-conference first team while Claire Bady and Victoria Morales made the second team.
Obouh Fegue was also named to the all-state team as the sophomore averaged 16.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. The 9.6 average is second in Region 8 and is also second in blocks this season with 63. The center from Paris, France has 12 double-doubles this season.
Lewis leads Region 8 in assists with 207 on the season as well as a 7.4 assists per game average. The sophomore from Chicago averaged 12.6 points per game and has scored 15 or more points nine times this season.
Batz hit a Region 8-leading 83 3-pointers this season including nine against Hillsborough Community College. The guard from Titusville averaged 11.2 points per game.
Bady averaged 6.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 25 games for the Titans. Down the stretch the guard from Strasbourg, France helped the Titans qualify for the postseason, starting five of the last nine games and averaging 10 points and 6.7 rebounds.
Morales averaged 7.1 rebounds and 4.8 points starting 24 of the 28 games this season. The sophomore from Oviedo had 10-plus rebounds in six games.
The women's basketball team will open the FCSAA State Tournament on Thursday, March 8 in Ocala against Miami-Dade.
