The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team found their range early Monday night against the College of Central Florida, beating the Patriots 91-70 at Titan Field House.
The Titans shot 50 percent from the 3-point arc led by Angeni Worley and Mariah Batz who each hit seven in the game.
Batz got things started, hitting the first one of the night and had three of her seven in the first quarter as the Titans got off to a 23-14 lead.
The lead would grow to as much as 18 in the second quarter as it was Worley's turn to hit three in a quarter. The duo combined for 29 of the team's 44 points at the half. The College of Central Florida had 29 at the half as a team.
The lead would grow to 20 by the end of the third quarter.
For Worley, it was her second straight strong game as the freshman from Orlando finished with her first double-double of the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. In two straight starts, Worley has hit 12 3-pointers.
Batz finished with a game-high 23 points, hitting seven of 10 3-point shots on the evening. It is the seventh time this season the sophomore from Titusville has had at least five 3-pointers in a game.
Teammate Theodora Odia finished with a season-high 10 points off the bench for the Titans who are 21-5 overall.
The Titans will travel across the state for a Suncoast Conference matchup with Florida Southwestern on Saturday afternoon. The two teams have split the first two meetings and a win would put the Titans in position to win the conference championship. Tipoff is 2 p.m. They will be back at Titan Field House Feb. 21 against St. Petersburg for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
