The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team handed Cape Fear Community College its first loss of the season Saturday at the East Georgia Classic.
The Titans jumped out to a lead in the first quarter and led throughout the contest, posting the 78-54 victory. It was the fourth straight win for Eastern Florida State College, who is now 4-1 on the season.
Angeni Worley had a season-best 23 points to lead the Titans while teammate Alexandrine Obouh Fegue finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Brianna Lewis chipped in with 17 points and Victoria Morales finished with a team-high 13 rebounds. As a team the Titans outrebounded Cape Fear 50-39.
"We played well, Cape Fear is a good, well coached team that challenged us and we responded," Eastern Florida State College women's basketball coach MJ Baker said. "It was a team effort which is what we are going to need going forward against a schedule that gets even tougher."
The Titans will travel to Santa Fe College Tuesday for a 6 p.m. game.
