Volleyball team to honor sophomores after match with Santa Fe
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team will host Santa Fe College Saturday afternoon in the final regular season game for the Titans.
The 16th-ranked Titans will honor the sophomore class after the match and fans are encouraged to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Eastern Florida State College comes into the matchup with Santa Fe 6-7 in the Citrus Conference while Santa Fe is 2-10 in the conference standings.
The Titans have qualified for the FCSAA State Tournament for the second straight season and have been ranked in the national poll for eight straight weeks, a program record.
The sophomores that will be honored after the match have made history at Eastern Florida State College and many of them are statistically among the top players in the program's history.
Outside hitter Sofia Kamke has 456 kills in her two seasons with the Titans and has had three matches with 22 kills in her career. Both are among the best in program history. The Santa Catarina, Brazil native has also had five aces in a match twice this season which is second-most in program history.
Setter Juliana De Acharan has over 1,000 assists in her two seasons with the Titans and has 345 digs in 41 matches. She has recorded two 40-plus assist matches and has three in her career. She is the second player in program history to record over 1,000 assists in two seasons.
Libero Gaia Riedmuller also wraps up her Titans career as one of the best in program history as the Bolzano, Italy native has 680 digs with 54 aces and has had a 31-dig match which all rank among the top performances in Titans history.
Emma Kiser has played many positions on the court for the Titans and ranks among the top 10 in kills, assists and digs after her two seasons. The Gainesville, Georgia native has 287 kills, 419 assists and 270 digs and is coming off one of her best matches in her career against Daytona State College, recording 16 kills and 12 digs.
Middle hitter Sophia Knowles has 258 kills and 84 blocks in her career, averaging 1.64 kills per set for her career. The Port St. Lucie native has at least five kills in 10 matches this season.
Setter Mariana Saba has 179 assists in 104 sets in her two seasons with the Titans and has also recorded 84 digs. The Minas Gerais, Brazil native also has 20 service aces.
Middle hitter Daphne Wibranowski has recorded 21 kills and 23 blocks this season for the Titans after transferring from Indian River State College.
Outside hitter Paulina Dobrinova has 229 kills in her career with 156 digs. The Madrid, Spain native had a 20-kill effort and has six matches with six kills or more this season.
Middle hitter Rachele Braccio has accumulated 108 kills and 12 blocks in her two seasons with the Titans and has at least three kills in nine matches this season.
