Women's volleyball team tops St. Petersburg in straight sets
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a straight set victory against St. Petersburg College Saturday.
The Titans defeated St. Petersburg College 25-20, 25-17 and 25-13 Saturday afternoon in St. Petersburg.
The first set was tight until EFSC went on a run with a big block and a Delphinia Beams block to give the Titans a 21-16 lead. Emma Kiser's kill gave the Titans a first set win.
The second set saw Eastern Florida State College go on an early nine-point run to take a 14-5 lead and went on to post a 25-17 victory.
The third set was much the same as the Titans once again went on a nine-point run with Sophia Knowles scoring a couple of big kills during the rally. Up 14-5 the Titans continued to score points and took a 20-9 lead on their way to a 25-13 win.
Knowles led the attack with 11 points and 10 kills in the match.
Eastern Florida State College will play in a tri-match at Daytona State College Wednesday, playing Monroe College at 11 a.m. and then Coastal Alabama-South at 3:30 p.m.
