The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team lost a five-set match with Hillsborough Community College Friday afternoon at Titan Field House.
The Titans, who fell to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in the Southern Conference, lost the first set 25-19, but came back to win the next two sets 25-19 and 25-12 before losing the fourth set 25-14 to force a fifth set, which they lost 15-8.
Already down a set, the Titans went down 6-1 to start the second set before a Maredis Colon kill. Colon would then tie the match with four straight service points. The second set would remain close until Anaeli Perea had five straight service points to make it 24-18. The Titans would tie the match 25-19.
The third set saw the Titans get behind but battled back and led 13-9 when Janleen De Jesus served eight straight points to give the Titans a commanding 22-9 lead.
They would take a 2-1 lead but Hillsborough fought back to secure the win.
The Titans will host No. 1 ranked Miami Dade on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Titan Field House.
