The Eastern Florida State College volleyball team lost a back-and-forth battle with Pasco-Hernando in five sets in the home opener at Titan Field House Friday afternoon.
The teams split the first two sets as the Titans won the first 25-21, lost the second 25-12. Pasco Hernando jumped out to a 24-16 lead in the third set but the Titans would score six straight points before falling 25-22.
But they kept the momentum and raced out to an 11-4 lead in the fourth en route to a 25-15 win forcing a fifth set.
The two teams would be tied 8-8, 12-12 and 14-14 but Pasco-Hernando came up with the big plays late to pick up the 16-14 win.
The Titans, who fell to 1-2 on the season, were led by Giselle Giraud who finished with 20 kills and 12 digs in the match.
Eastern Florida State College will host Indian River State College in a Southern Conference match Tuesday at 6 p.m.
