
Nine softball players named to the All-Citrus Conference teams
The Eastern Florida State College softball team had nine players recognized as All-Citrus Conference players.
The Titans had four players make the first team and five others named to the second team on Friday.
Starting pitcher Hannah Strickland, shortstop Livie Davis and outfielders Jenna Borkey and McKenzie Jewell were all named to the first team while catcher Madison Ford, first baseman Kyla Leppin, third baseman Brooke Theisen, outfielders Faith Campos and Maci Vonderstrasse made the second team.
Strickland has made 26 starts this season and has 16 wins and a 2.96 ERA. The Haslet, Texas native has struck out 106 hitters and has eight complete games.
Davis has started 60 games at shortstop and is hitting .396 with 13 doubles, three home runs and 20 stolen bases. The freshman from Williston has eight triples which is tied for first in Region 8 and tied for fifth in the nation. She has driven in 43 runs and scored 49 times.
Borkey has started 50 games for the Titans and is hitting .407 this season as the centerfielder has four doubles, three triples and two home runs. The sophomore from Concord, North Carolina has 43 stolen bases which is fourth in Region 8.
Jewell has started 60 games and is hitting .398 this season with 19 doubles, three triples and three home runs. The freshman outfielder from Coral Springs has driven in 46 runs this season.
Ford has played in 50 games this season and the freshman catcher from Melbourne is hitting .361.
Leppin has played in 48 games and the freshman first baseman from Groveland is hitting .338 with 13 doubles and three home runs.
Theisen has played in 58 games as the sophomore from Clermont is hitting .363 with 20 doubles and 18 stolen bases.
Campos has played 60 games for the Titans and the sophomore from Clermont is hitting .349 with 39 stolen bases.
Vonderstrasse has been in 38 games and is hitting .373 as the freshman from Williston has 16 stolen bases.
The Titans finished in fifth place in the Citrus Conference and will open the FCSAA Division I/NJCAA South Atlantic District Championships Wednesday afternoon at Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater
