Softball team hosts Miami Dade Wednesday on WEFS-TV
The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Miami Dade College Wednesday in a Southern Conference doubleheader.
The Titans will look for their first conference win against the Sharks beginning at 3 p.m. on WEFS-TV, channel 9 or 455 on Spectrum, 68 on DirecTV, 30 on Dish and 68 on AT&T Uverse. The game will also be shown live online at EFSC Titans YouTube page.
Starting pitcher Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor comes into the doubleheader leading the Titans staff with a 1.77 ERA in 24 appearances. Offensively, the duo of Trinity Howard and Rachel Lamoureaux are both hitting over .350 this season playing almost every game this season.
In the first meeting with Miami Dade on Saturday, the two teams battled to a 2-1 contest that the Sharks won. The contest featured a pitcher's duel as the two teams combined for seven hits.
Miami Dade starter Maria Navarro allowed just the one run in her sixth win of the season and eighth complete game. Navarro is also one of the Sharks leading hitters with a .344 average and went 3-for-3 in the first meeting. Teammate Beatriz Narazaki is hitting .360 with 24 RBI.
Wednesday's doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m. and admission is free.
