Softball team hosts Daytona State Saturday afternoon

The Eastern Florida State College softball team will host Daytona State College in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Titan Softball Complex on the Melbourne campus.

The doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday and admission is free. The Titans split with the Falcons in the first meeting at Daytona State College.

Against St. Johns River, Mandy Hedetniemi-Taylor tossed a complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and struck out six. Hedetniemi-Taylor tossed 4 1/3 innings of shutout softball against Daytona State College in the first meeting.

Daytona State College comes into the matchup 11-5 and is coming off a split with St. Petersburg College on Thursday. The Falcons are 7-3 in their past 10 games.
