Men's tennis team receives bye in first round at national tournament
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team were rewarded for their strong season during the seeding meeting at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in McKinney, Texas.
The Titans received a bye in every flight and will open the tournament on Tuesday morning at the Courts of McKinney in McKinney, Texas.
Hugo Car is the No. 3 seed at No. 1 singles and will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday against the winner of Monday morning's match between Coastal Alabama's Guido Loayza and Paradise Valley's Sam Miyata.
Lucas Gonzalez is the No. 4 seed at No. 2 singles and will also play at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Gonzalez will play the winner of Monday morning's opener between Coastal Alabama's Santiago Castillo and Jones College's Wallace Brewer.
Eric Tripathi is the No. 3 seed at No. 3 singles and will play Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. against the winner of Monday's match between East Central CC's Luke Sanders and Harford's James Girdler.
Jack Dixon is the No. 3 seed at No. 4 singles and will also hit the court at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday against the winner of Harford's Pablo Poleo and College of Lake County's Lukas Janusksis.
Jett Leong is the No. 3 seed at No. 5 singles and will play at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and will play winner of Bevill State's Hayden Davis and East Central's Trey Posey.
Colin Tavares is the No. 3 seed at No. 6 singles and will open Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. against the winner of Paradise Valley's Justin Sowinski and Mississippi Gulf Coast's Triston Hill.
In doubles, the No. 1 doubles team of Car and Gonzalez are the No. 4 seed and will open at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday against the winner of Barton Community College and Coastal Alabama.
The No. 2 doubles team of Dixon and Tavares is the No. 3 seed and will play Monday's winner between Paradise Valley and Lewis & Clark.
The No. 3 doubles team of Eavan Attie and Tripathi are also the No. 3 seed and will play at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of Monday's match between Prairie State and Mississippi Gulf Coast.
