Men's tennis doubles team to play at ITA Cup
Two members of the Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team will compete in the ITA Cup at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Mount Berry, Georgia this week.
Sophomore Lucas Gonzalez and freshman Jack Dixon won the doubles title at the ITA JUCO Southeast Regional Championships in Tifton, Georgia to qualify for the ITA Cup.
The doubles team will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday against Tyler Junior College's Faiz Nasyam and Emilio Vila who come in as the No. 4 seed of the JUCO East draw.
"Jack and Lucas have been playing really well together and they are looking forward to playing in the ITA Cup," Eastern Florida State College men's tennis coach Bobby Cashman said. "It is a good event with some really good teams so we will see how they stack up and what we need to work on."
The ITA Cup is the only tournament that combines all levels of Junior/Community College (NJCAA Divisions I and III and the California division). The singles and doubles champions at each divisional level will then compete at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
