Men's tennis team tops ASA Miami in battle of top five teams
The Eastern Florida State College men's tennis team edged ASA Miami in a battle of top five teams in the nation Saturday afternoon in Miami.
The fifth-ranked Titans took an early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches over No. 2-raned ASA Miami as Frederik Oervad and Dario Kmet teamed up to win No. 2 double 8-6 while Mikar Fisher and Tomas Reche wn the third doubles match 8-4.
After dropping the first set 6-3, Reche bounced back against Gustavo Cruz at No. 2 singles to win the second set 6-1 and force a third set which Reche also won 6-1.
The win proved big as the Titans would win the match 5-4 as Kmet and Fisher also won singles matches for Eastern Florida State College.
The Titans will host Davenport University next Saturday at 11 a.m. at Titan Tennis Center.
