Women's volleyball team tops Hillsborough, advances at state tourney
The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team defeated Hillsborough Community College in the FCSAA/NJCAA Division I Southeast District Tournament Friday afternoon at Titan Field House.
The Titans won 25-22, 21-25, 25-20, 25-19 to advance to face No 1 seed Florida Southwestern at 6 p.m.
Eastern Florida State College was led by the duo of Sofia Kamke and Flavia Romanelli who each recorded double digit kills. Kamke finished with a game-high 15 kills while Romanelli had 11. Teammate Fabiola Rivera finished with nine kills and 10 digs while Gaia Riedmuller led the Titans with 19 digs.
The Titans are in teh state tournament for the second time in four seasons.
