Volleyball team goes 2-0 at Daytona State Invitational

The Eastern Florida State College women's volleyball team beat Coastal Alabama-South in straight sets in the second match of the Daytona State Invitational Wednesday at Daytona State College. The 25-19, 25-23, 25-11 win was the fifth straight for the Titans which is the best start in the past decade for the program. The Titans jumped out to a fast start, leading 15-4 behind a few Emma Kiser kills. Kiser then served four straight points including a couple of aces. The Titans kept the pressure on, taking the first set 25-19. Rachele Braccio had some big kills midway through the second set to give the Titans a 17-10 advantage but Coastal Alabama-South stormed back to cut lead to 24-23. But Sofia Kamke finished it with a kill to put the Titans up 2-0.

The third set was all Titans as Kamke served six straight points to give Eastern Florida a 7-1 advantage. From there the Titans continued to push, taking the third set 25-11 to win in straight sets. Eastern Florida State College will travel to Odessa, Texas for the Odessa College Tournament where they will play New Mexico Junior College and 20th-ranked Hill College on Friday and then face Panola College and Temple College on Saturday.
