Five women's basketball players named to all-Central Conference team
Stephanie Torres, Anja Knoflach and Natalia Beaumont made the first team while Jourdan Avery and Zahria Jenkins were named to the second team
The Eastern Florida State College women's basketball team had five players make the all-Central Conference Tournament team.
For the second straight season the Titans had three players make the first team as Stephanie Torres, Natalia Beaumont and Anja Knoflach all made the first team.
Torres, who was on the second team as a freshman, finished the regular season averaging 16.4 points per game which is third-best in the state. The sophomore guard from Orlando has six 20-plus point games this season and has started all 19 of the Titans games. Torres was also named to the all-state team.
Knoflach heads into the postseason averaging 14 points per game which is 13th in the state and hits 39.5 percent of her 3-pointers which is seventh-best in the state. The sophomore from Graz, Austria has hit at least one 3-pointer in 18 of the 19 games this season and has had five 3-pointers in three games. The guard has started all 19 games for the Titans and is 11 from 100 career 3-pointers in her Titans career.
Beaumont is averaging 11.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season for the Titans. The forward from Emu Heights, Australia has recorded six double-doubles in the 13 games she has played this season.
Zahria Jenkins was named to the second team after averaging 8.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season. The redshirt-freshman from Crystal River has scored at least 11 points in four of the last five games to finish the regular season.
Jourdan Avery was named to the second team after the freshman played in 18 games, averaging 7.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and three assists per game.
The Titans will open the FCSAA State Tournament on Wednesday as the No. 8 seed.
